Are Truck Parts Bought on Boot Sales any Good?
Submitted by widerim on Sat, 03/01/2008 - 01:57.
Truck parts and their quality, will determine the maintenance cost of your vehicle.
Often people buy truck parts on boot sales, because they are cheap. Little they know, many of these parts are of inferrior standard and can even endanger the lives of the truck owner. Paying 20 or 30% less than the price of parts bought from authorized truck dealer, seems like a good saving, till you have to pay thousands of dollars for repairs and towing, because a sub-standard part has failed.
Me personally, I buy truck parts for my trucking business, only from well established parts dealers.
They always give me trade discount, and replace anything found faulty.
Only in casse where the part is unavailable, I may consider visiting truck parts boot sale, and purchasing it there.
In any case, I always check the parts throughly before fitting, to ensure a trouble-free run.
